 This course will help prepare you to respond to an adult in cardiac  arrest, including the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).  


Topics include:
 

• Sudden cardiac arrest  • Preparing to help
• Caring for cardiac arrest: CPR                      • Using an AED   • Multiple providers •Choking
 

This course conforms to the 2015 AHA Guidelines Update for CPR and ECC.
 

By successfully completing this online class, students will receive a  Certificate of Online Training. If a certification card is needed,  student must successfully complete a hands-on skill session with a  currently authorized ASHI or MEDIC First Aid Instructor.

This program uses a step-by-step procedure and skill guide to provide  guidance for assessing, prioritizing, and stopping life-threatening  bleeding based on scientific evidence, national guidelines, and the  consensus of experts.


HSI Stop Life-Threatening Bleeding is an excellent supplement to our CPR and First Aid programs.

Pediatric First Aid | CPR/AED

 This course was created for school employees, child care providers,  youth sports coaches and parents who may need to respond to medical  emergencies involving children.

 

 This course is based upon the 2015 CPR and First Aid Guidelines, Caring  for Our Children, 3rd Ed and other evidence-based treatment  recommendations.
 

By successfully completing this online class, students will receive a  Certificate of Online Training. If a certification card is needed,  student must successfully complete a hands-on skill session with a  currently authorized ASHI or MEDIC First Aid Instructor.

Pediatric First Aid | CPR/AED

HSI Basic Life Support (BLS) reflects the latest resuscitation  science and treatment recommendations published by the International  Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR), and it conforms with the  2020 American Heart Association (AHA) Guidelines Update for CPR and ECC  and the annual Guidelines Update. 


Continuing Education Hours Available:  Emergency Medical Services (CAPCE) and Dental Professionals (AGD/PACE).

Advanced Cardiac Life Support | ACLS

All individuals who participate in an ACLS class must be previously trained, skilled, and be able to:

  • Perform high-quality basic life support (BLS)
  • Read and interpret basic electrocardiograms (ECG)
  • Understand cardiovascular pharmacology, prepare and administer essential cardiovascular medications.


Continuing  education (CE) hours for EMS professionals are available for ACLS from  HSI, a CAPCE-accredited organization.

Designed for community and workplace settings, this class provides the  knowledge required to help you respond to cardiac arrest and choking in  an adult. 

Adult CPR/AED| First Aid

This class provides the knowledge needed to help you respond to most  medical emergencies for adults, including cardiac arrest and choking as  well as sudden injuries and illnesses. 

Pediatric CPR/AED | First Aid

Advanced Cardiac Life Support | ACLS

Advanced Cardiac Life Support program is a scenario  (case-based) continuing education ACLS course intended for trained and  skilled healthcare providers who either direct or participate in  cardiopulmonary emergencies and resuscitation efforts. This ACLS  certification course is designed to provide students with an opportunity  to enhance and refine knowledge and hands-on skill proficiency in  emergency cardiovascular care. The ACLS training program conforms to the  2015 AHA Guidelines Update 

Pediatric Advanced Life Support | PALS

The Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) program is a  scenario (case-based) continuing education course intended for trained  and skilled healthcare providers who either direct or participate in  cardiopulmonary and resuscitation emergencies in children. PALS provides students with an opportunity to  enhance and refine their knowledge and hands-on skill proficiency in  emergency cardiovascular care. This Pediatric Advanced Life Support program conforms to the 2015 AHA Guidelines Update for CP


Stop Life Threatening Bleeding

The HSI Stop Life-Threatening Bleeding program teaches participants how to:

  • Assess the safety of the scene
  • Take standard precautions using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Evaluate a person to determine whether they have life-threatening bleeding
  • Activate EMS and/or your emergency action plan (EAP)
  • Stop life-threatening bleeding by manual pressure, wound packing, and/or applying a tourniquet
